If you use VMware Workstation 8 on your desktop a lot, please make sure to update it from VMware Workstation 8.0.0 (build 471780) to the new VMware Workstation 8.0.1 (build 528992) (release notes here) It looks like the new version is faster on use (please be aware the update can take some time)
