Hitachi 3 TB disk shows 746 GB

Just installed a 3 TB Sata disk from Hitachi, but windows (Win 7 X64 SP1 in my case) is showing the disk having a 746 GB capacity. start cmd.exe from the +R type “diskpart” type “select disk ” then drive NUMBER (as found in the computer management/Disk Management) type “clean” close the cmd window Restart
