Veeam ONE
Veeam Software announced the release of a new version of its virtualization management software, Veeam ONE.
Veeam is introducing a state of the art management software supporting a heterogeneous datacenter consisting of VMware and Hyper-V from a single application.
Veeam ONE gives an answer to the different pillars of Virtualization Management such as:
- Incident Management (real-time monitoring, alarm management and an extensive knowledgebase)
- Resource Management (trending, optimization, documentation, etc.)
- Change Management (who did what when)
The installation of Veeam ONE is so easy that it is unnecessary to include screenshots of the installation. One thing that impressed me is the ability to install all the requirements with ONE single click. That’s how installers should work!
The configuration of Veeam ONE is a no-brainer. Specify the correct virtual server type and Veeam handles everything for you.
Veeam ONE is one of the most intuitive virtualization management solutions currently on the market. After the installation it will take you less than 5 minutes to get used to the interface.
The different components of Veeam ONE are:
- Veeam ONE Business View
The outcome of a management solution is not always for every person the same. For example an application owner wants to know how his application performs and track changes on the different application components. A C-level person on the other hand is interested in SLAs, budgets and resource optimization.
Business View enables these different expectations and can dynamically categorize and group VMware and Hyper-V components.
- Veeam ONE Monitoring
This is THE component that virtualization administrators will love! In short Veeam ONE monitor shows YOU what YOU want to see!
In case you want to perform deeper analysis of a particular object you can easily click on the “view report” button which will redirect you to the Reporting engine of Veeam ONE.
- Veeam ONE Reporting
Talking about reporting. The below are just a handful examples of out-of-the box dashboards and reports. These dashboards can be easily published to for example Microsoft SharePoint.
For some environment specific needs it is very easy to create your own custom reports. Veeam ONE adapts to your IT needs and IT processes! For example a licensing report which I’m sure your licensing department will love.
